Position Summary
The Continuous Improvement Manager will drive operational excellence through continuous improvement program initiatives and deployments within back office functions of the organization. This role will utilize lean implementation strategies and experiences in leading the organization through the lean transformation journey. You will plan, organize, and implement established STERIS Continuous Improvement methods, practices, and tools for more efficient and effective processes. You will take a hands-on, collaborative, action-oriented approach to build support for change and transformation while leading, training, developing, motivating, and coaching the team in the development of a lean culture.

*Open to remote or hybrid work with the ability to travel to Mentor, Ohio on a regular basis and to other STERIS locations as needed. 
What You Will Do

Lead and drive lean transformational and continuous improvement efforts in the back office (IT, Finance, HR, Quality, Regulatory, Legal)
Implement STERIS Business System continuous improvement activities in all major lean disciplines and in alignment with strategic initiatives and objectives 
Monitor existing and new transactional processes for improvement opportunities through lean problem-solving methodology
Facilitate and lead lean training, Kaizen events (Strategic Execution, Routine Management, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, New Product Development, Process Improvement, Lean Software Development, Voice of the Customer), and other lean initiatives
Acquisition and integration
Through Kaizen, work with teams to improve processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of software systems
Track, measure, and report progress on improvements using visual, standard, and established Key Performance Indicators
Assist organizations to develop and execute long-term and short-term strategic vision
Serve as a change facilitator, to develop and collaborate with lean champions and lean facilitators, and influence business leadership in the transformation to and/or in support of a continuous improvement culture
Assess, coach, and provide constructive feedback to leaders, teams, and individuals to strengthen lean competencies throughout the business
Initiate, maintain, and share business developed “best practices”
Organize and facilitate business Lean Steering Committees

What You Need to be Successful

Bachelor’s in Business, Organizational Behavior, Computer Science, Engineering, related four year degree required.
Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated lean experience in a leadership role required. Must have some experience implementing Lean principles within back office systems. (IT, HR, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Legal)
Must have experience leading Kaizen events and other Lean initiatives. 
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment with multiple priorities and achieve results
Ability to mentor and facilitate lean culture development in an environment with varying degrees of acceptance
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
Business process kaizen leadership training and/or experience, desirable
Experience with the software development life cycle preferred
Experience with successful Agile techniques and coaching on Agile methodologies, a plus
Understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems desirable
Ability to work with and lead a team
Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
Self-starter with confidence, motivation, resilience, innovation, and creativity
Ability to travel up to 40%
