As a Scientist not only will you be conducting research but also working on practical development of products for unique applications. You will have the opportunity to work in the lab on a daily basis performing design of experiments, conducting the experiments, analyzing and interpreting the data and reporting on the results. 

Design and develop product formulations. Perform analyses to support formulation development, existing product issues or support Customer Marketing or sales needs 
Develop techniques to evaluate formulations to stated criteria 
Resolve issues using problem solving techniques to identify causes and suggest solution approaches 
Completes assigned projects. 
Individual contributor as part of a larger cross functional team. 
May lead R&D Sub-teams 
Implements concepts, applying them to formulation design 
Assists with design transfer and scale-up activities 
Works under general supervision with few direct instructions. 

Education Degree
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Chemistry
Required Experience

Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment. 
Ability to read and interpret SDS files and safely handle organic and inorganic chemicals. 
Maintain knowledge of FDA and EPA requirements for method validation and stability 
Assure efficient laboratory operation through acquisition and inventory control of consumables lab supplies and chemicals. 
Practical working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). 
Performs or conducts scientific literature searches and evaluations. 
Prepares and presents data at internal or external meetings, as requested. 
Independently operate various. standard instruments and perform basic maintenance according to established methods 
Complies with established procedures and within regulatory and laboratory requirements. 
Demonstrates proficient writing skills for the following: 
SOPs and their revisions 
Test plans/protocols and recognizing when modifications are needed 
Laboratory reports 
OOS reports 
Maintains the Research Notebook recording detailed information on activities undertaken, existing conditions and observed results. 
Demonstrates good oral communication skills. 
Gives presentations to group and within R&D 
Perform all work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner


Capable of solving complex microbiological/chemistry problems through accurate interpretation of data and in-depth investigations. 
Practical knowledge/experience working under regulatory agency guidelines is desired. 
Conduct independent research on assigned projects/work
Strong observation, communication (technical written and verbal) and problem solving skills 
Exceptional team player with some leadership responsibilities.
Travel up to 10 percent
