Position Summary
Perform and document the results of functional, physical, and system compliance audits per FDA and ISO requirements, maintain the quality system with review and update of quality system procedures, report the results of configuration audits via interaction with engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, and third party representatives, identify root cause of discrepancies and provide solutions to engineering and manufacturing using proven analytical processes, participate in the design of tooling and fixtures, analyze and summarize data provided by suppliers, coordinate outside lab testing activities and maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
Duties

Conduct First Article Inspections of manufactured and purchased parts and assemblies and report results.
Conduct in process and incoming inspections of manufactured and purchased parts.
Process disposition of parts and assemblies internal and external to STERIS.
Manipulate computer systems such as AS400 and PC SW to store and retrieve Quality data.
Prepare Quality reports using MS Office products, statistical software and other related software.      
Conduct basic utilization of Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Calibrate Inspection and measuring equipment.
Maintain Receiving Inspection Files for incoming inspection activities, including making copies of relevant documentation for inclusion.
Investigate production line stoppages and impromptu quality issues and identify corrective actions.
Author new or revised Quality Assurance Procedures and Approved Montgomery Instructions, as well as Standard Work.
Serve as Lead Auditor for Internal Auditing program on product, process, and system audits.
Available for overtime, as needed.
Must pass color blindness test.

Education Degree
High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience

1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing quality role.
Knowledge of Quality methods and investigational techniques to determine root cause of problems.
Read and interpret technical drawings.
Familiarity with traditional inspection equipment; GD&T experience preferred.
Familiarity with computers and related software (Microsoft Office a plus).
Familiarity with MRP and shop floor control systems.
Effective communication with peers, suppliers, and management, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with FDA QSRs and ISO 9000 series standards, including participation in audits to these Standards.
Lean Experience and Knowledge desired.
Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. of materials periodically during the shift.

Preferred Experience

Basic familiarity with CMM/CNC equipment preferred.
Associate’s or higher degree preferred; ASQ Certification preferred.
