Position Summary
Overall responsibility for serving as the strategic interface with Life Science (LS) Commercial Operations group (business unit) for the purpose of business and IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. Serves as the business relationship being a liaison between the Life Science business unit and IT (at all levels). Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate level of IT regarding business requests, projects and initiatives. Proactively shares knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business unit. Works with Life Science Division functional area senior management and the IT team to determine systems strategies and standards. Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals for the information technology needs aligned with the divisional business needs. Analyzes the needs of functional business departments, establishes priorities for feasibility studies, researches options/alternatives as they relate to available shared systems and outside services, and presents and prepares capital project requests. Document existing workflow and current business process, gather information on user and business requirements, and drafts system specification. Understands IT system validation concepts and provides documentation and input into the validation process.  This position needs to understand all technology related needs, assist in the prioritization of projects and activities, and ensure that projects align with technology that best provides maximum return on investment. This position will have a direct line of reporting to IT and a dotted line to the SVP/VP of Life Science.
Duties

Utilize research and client contact to evaluate and develop technology solutions that are suited to the current and future needs of Global Commercial (Sales, Service, Marketing, Customer Ops, Commercial Ops) Operations division.
Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information to appropriate level of IT staff regarding business requests and projects.
Facilitates frequent IT planning and strategy sessions with division leadership and STERIS shared IT services insuring priorities are aligned.
Participates in all Global Commercial Operations business planning and update sessions
Coordinate changes for all business requirements with IT.
Establish IT service level agreement with the business leadership and monitor services are maintained.
Act as the primary point of contact to IT business partners to link business strategies to IT priorities.  
Understand business objectives & strategies.
Identify and prioritize key IT initiatives to support business strategies.

Manage new initiatives as solution consultant & technology decision maker. 
Primary point of contacts for all new requests from all LS Commercial Operations division when they arise. 
Recommend and drive new projects through demand planning ideation stage.
Ensure IT standards are applied to new solutions
Manage deliveries of IT initiatives supporting the business.
Facilitate ongoing project steering committee reviews.
Provide an escalation path to business during delivery phase. 
Assemble IT team to deliver the solution. 

Education Degree
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience

Must be hands-on with technical applications, as well as management to lead projects through full life cycle.
Project Management experience with agile project management methodologies
Experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Ability to quickly learn new technologies, adapt to new environments, and function within a team
Experience with Digital, Mobile, eCommerce, CRM solution platform and one of the BI tools is required.
Ability to solve complex problems or improve existing processes is required.
Healthcare or Life Science industry knowledge and/or experience are required.
Excellent oral and written communications and skilled in the art of persuasion. Comfortable in business situations with external customers and senior leadership
Develops and presents Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) to secure necessary project funding(5yrs)
Broad knowledge of information technology capabilities and characteristics, software languages and applications, data base technology, communications hardware/software, standards and procedures and data security techniques. Including extensive understanding of enterprise architectures, order management, and supply chain
Direct experience with medical equipment manufacturing and FDA software validation requirements
