The R&D Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and care of Cantel Medical’s R&D laboratory space, capital equipment library, and maintaining consumables stock within the Research and Development Laboratory.
This position reports to Director of Chemistry.
Take ownership of the physical laboratory space and common capital equipment within this space.
Drive a change of culture of sustained organization and cleanliness.
Maintain a detailed tracking system for an extensive library of endoscopy equipment. This includes:
Monitoring and recording usage history of individual items.
Ensuring equipment is kept in good working order.
Maintaining records on usage and repairs for all items.
Manage and control the usage of our automated endoscope reprocessing equipment library. This includes:
Schedule, monitor, and record the usage of individual pieces of capital equipment.
Conduct and document day-to-day maintenance of capital equipment.
Ensuring regular service on capital equipment is performed and recorded.
Conduct and record repairs to equipment as needed.
Manage the purchase of new capital equipment and capital infrastructure.
Manage calibration activities of test-measure equipment.
Manage the maintenance/repair/upgrade of critical laboratory infrastructure including air/gas, water, and electrical systems.

3+ years working in an accredited laboratory (ISO, A2LA, CLIA, etc) or 4+ years working in an R&D space.
Bachelors with 3-5 years and relevant work experience or Associates with 7-10 years of experience and relevant work experience.
Strong desire to drive a culture cleanliness.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Strong ability to maintain detailed records.
Desire to perpetuate a culture of safety.
Ability to work with a diverse team.
US Military veteran.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field: Chemistry, Engineering, or Biology.
3-5 years managing capital equipment in a R&D setting.
3-5 year of experience working in at a medical device company.
Previous work experience in a LEAN working environment.
Experience working with endoscopy equipment.
Knowledge of automated endoscope reprocessing equipment.
This position will have no direct reports.
