Position Summary
This position reports to the Sr. Director, Talent Acquisition & Development and works collaboratively with business leaders, HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence (COE) and key stakeholders to support the organization’s talent assessment, development and succession planning efforts for business-critical roles and high potential talent. This role operates as both a strategic consultant and hands-on partner; bringing deep talent subject matter expertise and leveraging innovative, but practical, approaches and tools to support organizational leadership assessment and development efforts.    


As a key member of the Talent Acquisition & Development Leadership Team (TA-TD), this position will help shape the future of business-driven talent development at STERIS through collaborative and consultative engagement and partnership with key stakeholders across STERIS’ global footprint.

Lead and continually evaluate, scale, evolve and deploy the STERIS Talent Review and Succession Planning Process, ensuring a robust and effective process and framework for assessing talent and succession and facilitating alignment on talent gaps and supporting strategies/actions. 
Conduct current and ongoing assessment of the overall health of the talent pipeline for Senior Director/VP+ leadership roles. Identify and recommend solutions to ensure a robust pipeline of highly capable talent ready to meet current and future business demands.  
Partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners to support the identification, assessment and development of talent in strategic business critical roles. Support the development and execution of succession plans for critical talent across the enterprise.
Manage and support individual talent management and development engagements that may include assessment, selection support (internal and external), coaching, IDP development, career pathing and other specific interventions, as appropriate. Share and align feedback, outcomes and recommended actions/plans with business leaders and HR partners.
Support the facilitation of talent/performance review and calibration discussions with both small and large audiences. Shape and influence objective and data-driven assessment of talent and support the identification of best-approach development strategies and solutions.    
Facilitate increased visibility, exploration and movement of high-potential talent across the enterprise to support business needs and increase internal talent mobility.  
Remain “solution neutral” and leverage data-driven assessment/analysis to identify and build recommended talent development solutions and approaches.

Build and maintain relationships, credibility and influence with key stakeholders, including business leaders, HR Business Partners and COE Leads.  
Partner with COE Leads to design and deliver talent management solutions aligned to business objectives and build critical leadership capabilities.
Identify, track and analyze key data and metrics to evaluate effectiveness of talent development strategies, solutions and interventions. Communicate insights, plans, progress and business outcomes to senior business and HR leaders. 
Manage and leverage external vendor partnerships. As appropriate, lead and navigate contract negotiations.
Maintain strong working knowledge and familiarity with talent management trends, best-practices, tools/resources and vendors. Conduct appropriate research and benchmarking and make recommendations for shifts in strategy, approach/methodology and tools, as necessary.

Education Degree
Bachelor’s DegreeRequired Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development (OD), Human Resources (HR), Psychology or other related fields. Master’s degree in HR, OD or Business Administration (MBA) preferred. 
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 5 years supporting strategic talent management and development processes/programs and designing custom solutions within a large, complex global manufacturing or service organization. Experience will include a combination of the following responsibilities: talent assessment, high-potential identification, coaching, development planning, competency management and talent review/succession planning.
Previous experience in a strategic HRBP role preferred. 
Experience administering, interpreting and coaching leading global talent assessment and development tools, including psychometrics and 360-degree assessments. Certified to use a variety of tools, including Hogan, Korn Ferry Assessment of Leadership Potential (KFALP), ESCI, etc.
Visionary and strategic thinker with the ability to translate and communicate strategy into practical application and measurable business impact. Ability to identify and implement creative solutions to complex problems.
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills to assess and continuously improve processes, practices and tools in areas of responsibility. 
Ability to navigate ambiguity and demonstrate agile thinking, behavior and decision making. Approaches work with intellectual curiosity and openness.
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively.   
Strong facilitation skills and executive presence with a senior leadership audience.
Strong working understanding of industry benchmarks, leading practices and innovations in talent management, as well as experience in practical and impactful application within an organization
