Position Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the short-term and long-term direction of the Purchasing Department. Analyse and forecast all aspects of the supply chain, including supply and demand for components, raws, and product. Benchmark, competition and gather market intelligence to recommend and lead strategic projects that will lead to delivery, cost and quality improvements. Regularly update management on the current state of the supply chain and activities to mitigate production disruption and lead cross functional teams to resolve supply chain issues. Responsible for Purchasing continuous improvement initiatives. Provide direction/support for purchasing and sourcing activities. Own Purchasing’s metrics and ensure spend is aligned with operational objectives.
Duties

Analyze and forecast all aspects of supply chain for components, raws, and product.
Lead strategic projects that bring exceptional value to the company through key supplier relationships and cost/benefit financial analysis.
Prepare required reports and provide detailed analysis of spend, inventory, and cost savings.
Lead all continuous improvement efforts relative to systems, processes, and supply chain management.
Manage supply chain risk through buying strategies, supplier agreements, 2nd sourcing, or other methods to mitigate risk to the business.
Prepare and monitor inventory plan and report out monthly performance.
Support fiscal year financial requirements of budget preparation and standard cost roll up.

Duties

Identify and lead or support 2nd sourcing initiatives.
Plan and negotiate contracts with favorable impact on inventory goals, quality, and continuity of supply and corporate cost objectives.
Establish improvement objectives for suppliers, analyze their performance, and take the necessary actions to ensure that objectives are met.
Manage employee talent and development. Coordinate performance reviews, recruitment/hiring, technical training, corrective actions and employee relations.
Oversee quoting, negotiating, and supplier relationship management of the Purchasing team.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree OR 10 years of operations management experience in lieu of a degree
10 years of experience in related field such as Operations, Materials, or Supply Chain Management
5 years of experience in management of direct reports
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and an ERP software such as SAP or Oracle
