ABOUT THE ROLE
Peloton, the leading interactive fitness platform that pioneered connected, technology enabled fitness, is looking for a passionate and energetic communications leader who will oversee and drive the brand’s communications programmes across Germany, a growing and strategic market. This role requires expertise in external communications with an emphasis on brand and reputation building, local campaign planning and execution, and consumer media relations. The Senior Manager, Communications works closely with the local German leadership team and the Global Communications team to ensure local market requirements and nuances are considered when it comes to communications strategies (external and internal), programme and campaign management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON:
Lead on planning and implementing overall business and consumer communications for the German market which spans brand, product and corporate PR
Works closely with German leadership team to ensure communications activities are supporting local commercial and brand objectives; oversees internal communications in strong partnership with Global and International teams; develops and refines the local narrative for external and internal audiences
Proactively identifies technology and cultural trends and devises compelling stories that show Peloton’s leadership in consumer technology and brand relevance in German culture
Leads on local issues management including communications plans, reactive messaging, and senior stakeholder approval
Oversees local PR agency team, sets direction, develops local programmes, manages budget, defines KPIs, executes all required reporting, and is responsible for agency accountability and ensuring accomplishments are aligned with company priorities in market
Authors all critical content including: press releases, newsroom content, as well as interview prep documents
Supports time-sensitive translation of critical content (internal and external) when necessary
Interfaces with Germany Marketing & Brand Comms teams to set direction for cultural moments and integrated campaigns including seasonal campaigns; determines local strategy for global campaigns and initiatives
Develops and leads local partnerships to determine appropriate communications strategies and tactics to scale partnerships locally to drive impact among existing and potential Members
YOU BRING TO PELOTON:
Previous experience leading communications in the German market
Experience in building proactive communications and storytelling programmes, media relations, crisis and issues management and content development skills are required
Ability to thrive in a high paced dynamic environment; comfortable with change
Solid relationships with media and proven ability to build relationship as needed
Highly organised, collaborative and detail oriented
Strong problem solver, strong written and verbal communication skills (German and English)
Experience in issues management
People Management skills
PR and Communications agency management
Employee Comms and change management experience a plus
Ability to work in the Berlin office three days a week
