The CoE Lead Machining Engineering role is pivotal to the Flowserve’s strategic development of a Lean, world class shaft machining capability. Driving strategic technology and applications strategy, the incumbent will play a key role in creating and executing efficient and effective asset utilization, 6 Sigma Quality levels, facility flow in manufacturing facilities that encode world class safety, ergonomics and optimized automation capability. A hands on knowledge of machining operations and maintenance strategy, tooling specification and development, ferrous/nonferrous material characteristics, CNC programming optimization, Lean/6 Sigma problem solving techniques and applied Lean principles. Develops and implements the machining and automation systems for the Shaft CoE : covering manufacturing systems designs, employee development /supervision and product transition planning


Leads the execution of the new cell for the first 12 months before transition to Operations
Acts as voice of the customer and Manufacturing Engineering during daily accountability meetings
Drives best practices in manufacturing within the global standards
Develops, Facilitates and documents the creation of standard work, Statistical process control, machining/ Quality standards and best practice
Supports product development activities in regard to machining process
Leads Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) projects in machining disciplines
Establishes safety training needs for department
Directs the operators and takes accountability for production plan fulfillment through maturity and stabilization
Collaborates with Supply Chain, Engineering, support services and customers to deliver PQVC : on time, on quality, on cost


Bachelors engineering degree (or equivalent) engineering (preferably Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering major) and 5+ years related experience
Hands on experience of machining operations, automation systems maintenance and tooling applications
Multi-machinery manufacturing methods and materials technology
Understanding of Machine/Process Capability as well as the application of Statistical process control
Advanced project management tools, methods and applications
Lean and 6 Sigma proficiency to black belt level (or equivalent)
CAPEX investment process
Coordinating/leveraging effectively remote CNC programming support as well as on site
Basic financial/product costing Knowledge
Effective oral presentation Skills
Conversational fluency in English and local workplace language Proven track record of process and program transformation
Understanding of development programs with the ability to put theory into action
Ability to travel up to 10%
