WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Transportation Engineer for our Northern California/Bay Area (San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland) offices.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different disciplines through a rotational program, intended to accelerate technical development and career growth.  The disciplines that new graduate will be exposed to include Traffic, Civil Engineering and Structural engineering.

Sample projects that WSP is currently working on include: BART General Engineering Services, Tolling and Pricing program development, Valley Link Rail link extension, SR239 Greenfield Highway environmental clearance and other management for transit and transportation programs.
Your Impact

Perform basic design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of conceptual transportation projects

Perform standard computations and analysis and research assignments

Support preparation of final design plans, cost estimates and special provisions

Preparation of technical memoranda, presentations and technical reports

Assist more experienced engineers in broader engineering activities

Collect data and gather information or documents

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field from an accredited program
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Entry level to one year of experience in engineering or a related field
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills
Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within six months
Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation
