This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Entry-Level Ports and Marine Engineer in our Federal Way, Seattle, Portland, Boston, or New York offices. Be involved in projects with our Ports and Maritime Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises of highly motivated analysts, planners, and engineers with a variety of technical backgrounds including economists, operations analysts, civil, environmental, ocean and structural engineering, and port planning, working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and private entities. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff.

Your Impact

Perform structural design for marine and upland components under supervision of senior ports and marine engineers
Prepare technical written communications in the form of memoranda and reports under supervision of senior ports and marine engineers
Support managers in the creation of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates in accordance with client requirements  
Work in a team to make sure that work product meets scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
Prepare drawings in AUTOCAD or REVIT and perform design calculations in support of broader engineering activities
Participate with the engineer-dive team on condition assessment work
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil engineering, or a closely related discipline.
0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience
EIT with plan for progressive experience towards gaining the PE in 3-4 years time

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
