The tk1sc Associate Electrical Engineer shall provide and participate in decision making for all project-related issues of entry to mid-size in revenue earnings as well as possess a full understanding of the client’s project requirements. This position has high a level of responsibility of interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering projects of entry up to mid-size. The Associate Electrical Engineer plans, develops, coordinates, directly in both small and mid-projects in scope and level of importance. This individual engages in all aspects of the mildly complex project, providing leadership and decision-making when required and has an advanced knowledge of the technical expertise required to design and implement the particulars of the project.This person will be located out of our Irvine, CA office.
Intermediate knowledge of own discipline/department for Medium Fee Projects or Mid-Level complexity projects.
Actively participates in problem solving and making engineering decisions on a discipline specific level.
Performs coordination at a higher level by reviewing drawings supplied by vendors, other team engineers, and the architects while implementing design modifications as necessary.
Ability to gather appropriate resources in order to solve problems.
Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more other employees and exercises independent judgment and discretion in supervision.
Formally trains direct reports.
Assists supervisor by providing input on discipline specific resource staffing allocations to meet business needs.
Believes in and champions the firms’ core values and inspires others to do the same.
Identifies and applies creative thinking and innovation that adds value at the project level.
Understands overall project scope and seeks overall MEP+ integration opportunities.
Consistently demonstrates proactive communication with staff, clients, and building officials; proactively seeks out to communicate orally and in written format about issues needing resolution.
Significant experience with monitoring and successfully managing project costs versus budget for discipline while understanding the firm’s financial system.
Plays an active and primary role in the maintenance of existing clients.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred.
5 to 7 years’ experience in the Electrical Engineering Design discipline.
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit documentation and management as it applies to Electrical Engineering.
Experience and understanding in EnergyPro
Baseline experience and understanding of AGI32 or Visual (or similar).
Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems.
Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.
Knowledge of Electrical and related California Building Codes
Knowledge of Green Building practices and LEED Rating Systems
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Master’s Degree in Engineering.
P.E. in Engineering preferred
Professional registration in Electrical Engineering is preferred (PE)
Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
