This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Field Technician for our Jacksonville, FL office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact

The successful candidate will conduct routine operation and maintenance of groundwater, soil vapor, and landfill gas remeditation systems.
Additional duties and responsibilities will include conducting monitoring events that follow standards and procedures for sampling groundwater, soil gas, soil, sediment, surface water, and landfill gas. 
Assist with other field activities as needed including, but not limited to, geophysical surveys, stormwater and wetland surveying, etc.
Perform all duties within established deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical devices. 
0-2 years of relevant work experience.
Good interpersonal, documentation, and computer skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Fundamental understanding of sample collection and chain of custody protocol.
Experience with system controls and telemetry helpful.
Ability to record information in a legible and accurate manner. (Field Notes)
Professional oral and written communication skills.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Travel is required, up to 60%, depending on project-specific requirements.
Must be able to work up to 12-hours outdoors.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk up/down slopes.
Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. 
This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. 

Preferred Qualifications

40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.       #LI-SV1
