This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Grants Development & Management Senior Consultant. This position could work out of WSP’s office in Washington DC or any other WSP office nationwide.


WSP’s Grants Development & Management group supports our clients in planning, preparing, winning, and managing competitive grant funding from federal, state, and local sources. We offer clients the technical and strategic experience to select the most competitive projects for funding and develop compelling grant applications.
Your Impact

Develop grants and design funding strategy for public infrastructure projects, on behalf of clients, and in collaboration with the Advisory team and other WSP practice groups;
Contribute to business development activities in pursuit of grant support consultant contracts;
Contribute to client engagement and foster client relationships; current with trends, opportunities, etc 
Manage and mentor junior consultants working on grants
Support clients in sectors such as transportation and resilience with grant management, including compliance and reporting requirements 
Serve as task lead / key staff for grant assistance contracts; manage scope, schedule, and budget
Demonstrate general knowledge of federal policy and grant guidelines
Provide grant writing and funding strategy support for infrastructure projects
Actively contribute to client relationships (both internally and externally)
Support the professional growth of our junior consultants within the Grants Development & Management group
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

In recognition of the full strategic suite of services offered by Advisory Services, the following degree requirements apply:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Data Sciences, Business, Economics, Finance, Urban or Transportation Planning, Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts, Public Policy, Operations Research, or closely related discipline.
5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in discipline and in a management consulting or client advisory capacity.
Grant writing experience for governments and non-profits programs
Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.
Working knowledge of management consulting and ability to coordinate with clients, agency regulators and understand requirements.
Working knowledge of relevant laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific software, technology, math principles, predictive models, data science, spreadsheets, and tools.
Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree is preferred.
A demonstrated passion for supporting clients with pursuing grants 
Familiarity with  U.S Department of Transportation, other federal, state and local as well as non-profit  competitive grant programs.
Grants management experience
Post Graduate Education (Graduate Level Courses Short Courses, Masters, PhD)
Active member of local professional organizations
