This Opportunity
Golder is seeking a Industrial  Wastewater Treatment Plant Mechanic to join our team at our Questa, New Mexico plant. This role is r esponsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance of vehicles, process equipment and facilities at a Wastewater Treatment Plant, as well as opening and closing maintenance workorders using the project computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).   #globalmining
Your Impact

Perform preventive and corrective process equipment maintenance on pumps, valves, instruments, tanks and miscellaneous equipment and rotating industrial equipment
Perform preventive and corrective heavy mobile (construction type) equipment maintenance
Perform light and medium duty truck (pickup truck, utility truck, etc.) and trailer preventive and corrective maintenance
Operate heavy mobile (construction type) equipment to perform maintenance at on site facilities such as buildings, ditches, roads and culverts and operate a hydro-jetter to maintain pipelines as scheduled or as needed
Perform snow removal duties on a seasonal basis
Adhere to the site Health Environment and Safety Plan (HASP)
Identify and report potential and existing site hazards, incidents, Fatal Risk Controls, and pSIFs  
Operate and maintain all equipment in a safe and controlled manner in accordance with site health and safety plans and industry best practices, Golder HSSE Program requirements and applicable federal programs, such as OSHA
Assist the site Lead Operator / Environmental Supervisor with accessing site sampling locations
Assist the operations staff with logging process variables, making process changes, and troubleshooting equipment failures
Assist site supervisor and or lead maintenance technician with maintaining the CMMS database
Assist maintenance subcontractors
Participate in site meetings and handoff meetings, as needed
Safe operation of all company vehicle(s) and site-specific mobile equipment, including heavy mobile (construction type) equipment
Knowledge of Health and Safety practices and mechanical aptitude
Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary (shifts can be 12 hours per day)
Extended travel (up to two months) for other construction type work as project load dictates
Adherence to timelines and relying on other people (resourcing)
Fatigue, long hours, p hysical demands, r epetitive tasks

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
0 to 2 years of industrial plant maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and heavy mobile (construction type) equipment.
Ability to obtain a 40-hour OSHA HazWOPER certificate or have a current certificate 
Ability to work in MS Office programs effectively
Site Specific requirements may include:

Experience aligning pumps and other rotating industrial plant equipment
Experience repairing and installing piping systems and valves using HDPE, PVC, carbon steel or alloy pipe and fittings
Preferred: Ability to rebuild pumps and other rotating to manufacturers tolerance
The job sites may be located in a mountain environment at an elevation above 8,000 feet depending on the sit
Exposure to extreme heat and extreme cold, including snowy conditions
Noise levels are usually loud
Required use of safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility clothing, steel-toed work boots and anti-slip footwear devices, occasional use of a respirator is required
Manual dexterity required to use equipment
Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 lbs may be required
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, balancing, kneeling crouching or crawling
Climb several flights of stairs, at least 20 times per day to perform operations rounds and monitor process equipment
Walk the process floor and hike unimproved areas of the site, walking may exceed 5 miles per day
Perform maintenance on equipment  daily, sometimes outdoors in remote locations

Compensation and Benefits
