WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Laser Scan Survey Manager for our New York City office. The following location will also be considered: Valhalla, NY. Be involved in projects with our Geospatial Survey Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team conducting registration and extraction of LiDAR data using Leica Cyclone, AutoDesk Revit, TopoDOT, and other software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a Team Lead and work with other Laser Scan team members to assure training in LiDAR registration and extraction
Work collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasks
Create and review digital models and mapping of LiDAR projects and other types of traditional survey projects
Perform QA/QC of collected data
Manage projects, including face to face interaction with the client(s)
Active participant in industry and social media efforts
Responsible for Project Estimating and Scheduling
Remain current with laser scanning methods, software and equipment
Perform quality control review of deliverables
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
High school diploma or GED and supplemental technical training in surveying and/or college level courses in surveying or business management
Minimum of 7 years of relevant post education experience with Laser Scanning Surveys and related software
Experience with project management and project scheduling
Successful experience leading a team
Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Understanding of complex construction and documentation survey/laser scan projects
Working knowledge of surveying mathematics, land surveying practices and procedures
Good communication skills, an overall knowledge of conducting field operations, and an understanding of office operations
Valid state driver’s license. Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Proficiency with Leica Software and equipment
Experience with 3D modeling in a variety of software platforms, including AutoDesk and Microstation
