WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-time Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager for our Puget Sound offic and Southern California offices. For over 40-years WSP has been a leader in waterfront structural design in the Puget Sound, for the U.S. Navy, and worldwide. The WSP Maritime group is a dynamic and energetic group with strong work ethics and a great culture of collaboration and camaraderie. You would be joining the largest and best waterfront/marine design group in the region. The projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging. The Federal Way office has more than 50 Maritime staff, the largest and best, with an unmatched depth of waterfront and marine design experience, in the region.
Be involved in projects with our Ports and Maritime Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client”s objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises of highly motivated analysts, planners, and engineers with a variety of technical backgrounds including economists, operations analysts, civil, environmental, ocean and structural engineering, and port planning, working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and private entities. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff.
Independently perform and supervise structural analysis and design for marine and upland components
Independently perform and supervise berthing and mooring analyses
Lead development of plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for variety of port and Navy projects
Understand maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61
Independently prepare basis of designs, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reports
Understand interdisciplinary requirements for port projects and be capable of performing QA/QC reviews
Lead inspections of port structures and develop repair alternatives
Attend client meetings and perform site visits
Mentor developing ports and marine engineers
Who You Are
Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures with PE license
Masters in Civil/Structural/Coastal
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP”s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP”s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must successfully complete and pass WSP”s Motor Vehicle screening.
MS with more than 10 years of experience in Port Structures
Previous experience in analyses and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates
National professional practice organization involvement
Hands-on analyses and design experience (SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, L-PILE, SLIDE)
SE license or ability to obtain
Project management experience
