This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Engineer for our Boston, MA office. Be involved in projects with our Properties and Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
We are a global leader in the practice of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering and related specialty services for the built environment. Your Impact

Lead Project plumbing/fire protection Engineer capable of interaction and communication with the project team. 
Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
Coordinates the activities of technical staff from project award through project completion.
Ability to build relationship with Clients for future work.
Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, architects and building owners to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, assist with laying out installation of equipment, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications, drawings, schematics, compliance documentation, and local, state and federal codes and standards.
Work collaboratively with other engineers, architects, and building and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similar engineering degree.
5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior plumbing and fire protection design experience.
Experience in Commercial, Residential, Fit-out, and Healthcare & Science + Technology Project Designs
Proficient knowledge of plumbing and fire protection engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
Working knowledge of relevant plumbing and mechanical system and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCalc), technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, load calculations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Preferred Qualifications 

Licensed Professional Engineer
Revit and AutoCAD experience.
