This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-time Senior Resident Construction Engineer for our Indianapolis, IN office. Be involved in projects with our PM/CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges..
Your Impact

Supervise, develop and train field staff and other construction support staff assigned to a project. 
Responsible for field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, and quality control on one large or several small construction projects.
Verify and review project documentation for acceptance including pay applications, change orders, submittals, shop drawings, cost reduction proposals, traffic control modifications, and others.  
Act as the primary point of contact between the client, engineering team, and contractors.
Manage the construction management team, including sub-consultants.
Review and make recommendations for contractors’ project schedules and non-conforming work
Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors
Meeting with prospective clients to learn about future CM pursuit opportunities
Supervise and conduct the inspection and review of work in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specifications.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field experience
Minimum of 7 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) on transportation or construction related projects
Must be knowledgeable of INDOT construction specifications, proficient in SiteManager, familiar with INDOT material sampling and testing, and other INDOT policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend contract documents
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Valid drivers’ license
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in local municipalities and/or local DOT.
Background in construction management, architecture, or engineering fields.
Professional Engineering License or ability to receive licensure within 6 months.
Familiarity with e-Builder
Roadway, highway or bridge construction inspection experience
