This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full Time Structural Buildings Engineer, with the potential to work out of any of our Federal Programs offices around the US, which include Federal Way, WA; New York City, NY;  Virginia Beach, VA;  Denver, CO; San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA. Be involved in projects with our Structural Buildings Team in the Federal Programs Group and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 
Our Federal Programs Group comprises of highly motivated engineers architects and interior designers with a variety of technical backgrounds working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Postal Service, and U.S. National Park Service. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our federal work and our staff.

Your Impact

Perform structural analysis, design, and assessment of building structures under limited supervision
Design with all major construction materials
Develop plans and specifications in accordance with client requirements 
Supervise and assist in preparation of drawings in REVIT
Independently prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and assessment reports
Assist with inspection and design which requires work both in field and office settings
Mentor developing structural engineers
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results oriented, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP”s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP”s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Federal design standards (UFCs and UFGS)
PE license
Masters in Structural engineering
Hands-on analyses and design experience (Risa3D, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD, MathCAD, TEDDS, EnerCalc, Revit)
Seismic design and assessement experience
A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations
Ability to obtain a US Government issued Secret level Security Clearance

Compensation and Benefits:
