WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Consultant. This position could be located in our Washington, DC office or any of the following locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, New York, and Austin. About the Position:

We are looking for a highly motivated analyst consultant with experience in data analytics and applied economics to join our Economic Analysis and Strategy (EAS) group. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in economic and statistical analysis and related fields including finance and data analytics. 
The Lead Consultant position offers great opportunities for professional growth.  You will work directly with industry thought leaders to identify and apply evolving requirements and innovative practices to large, highly visible projects across the United States.

Your Impact

Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, spreadsheets, financial documents, federal legislation, grant requirements, and other matrices for project development, design, consultation, and construction.
Apply high-level management consulting and client advisement to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.
Lead and contribute to marketing and business development activities.
Actively collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to foster and provide “trusted advisor” service and future-ready solutions for clients.
Direct primary and secondary research related to planning, economics, and finance of instrastucture projects.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical and financial analysis, organizational development, and reporting.
Proactively apply knowledge regarding the range of services provided by the various Advisory Services business lines in support of marketing efforts, business development pursuits, leads, and proposals.
Provide guidance and training to junior-level staff.
Lead and/or participate in client meetings and interact directly and independently with clients to understand and meet requirements for projects.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, concepts, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address environmental, design, and/or construction issues or opportunities. 
Analyze, evaluate, and interpret data obtained during site/field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk mitigation activities.
Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention.
Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
Remain current in the latest management consulting and advisory services techniques and practices.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
The successful candidate will have the following skills, interests, and experiences:

Expertise in economic and statistical analysis and related fields, with demonstrated progression of responsibility in economic areas including benefit-cost analysis, business case analysis, economic impact analysis, economic modeling and forecasting, socio-economic/land use forecasting, econometrics, and/or finance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Extensive experience in the infrastructure industry and related sectors
Program/project delivery implementation experience is highly desirable
Contributes to thought leadership
Recognize for technical excellence in high quality level performance
Experience with analytical packages and/or programming languages (SAS, EViews, SPSS, R, Python, Matlab, VBA, etc.)
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) 
Excellent communicator with abilities to deliver complex ideas and results in intuitive and effective manner to non-techinical audience
Employment authorization to work in the United States immediately required
Federal grant program experience highly desirable

Required Qualifications

In recognition of the full strategic suite of services offered by Advisory Services, the following degree requirements apply: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Data Sciences, Business, Economics, Finance, Urban or Transportation Planning, Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts, Public Policy, Operations Research, or closely related discipline.
Advanced degree in economics, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, business, public policy, or urban planning  desirable.
7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in discipline and in a management consulting or client advisory capacity. 
Proficient with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.
Extensive knowledge of management consulting and ability to coordinate with clients, agency regulators and understand requirements.
Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of financial principles, legislation, plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations. 
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Proficient with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software, technology, math principles, predictive models, data science, spreadsheets, and tools.
Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Expected Salary: $85,300 – $174,200
